1. Marketing
Marketing is the overall strategy a business uses to promote and sell products or services. It includes research, planning, and communication to reach the right audience.
Goal: Drive sales and grow the business.
Tools: Ads, social media campaigns, email marketing, SEO, promotions, events, and more.
Example: A company researches its audience, creates a campaign, and posts social media ads to promote a new product.
2. Public Relations (PR)
Public Relations focuses on building and maintaining a positive image for a brand, company, or individual. It’s about reputation and relationships with the public and media.
Goal: Create trust, credibility, and a favorable image.
Tools: Press releases, media relations, events, influencer partnerships, and crisis management.
Example: A company issues a press release about a charity initiative to show it supports the community.
3. Advertising
Advertising is a paid form of marketing communication used to promote products, services, or ideas. It’s usually controlled by the brand because you pay for placement.
Goal: Drive awareness, interest, and sales.
Tools: TV, radio, print, social media ads, Google Ads, banners, and sponsored content.
Example: A brand runs a paid Instagram ad campaign for a new product.
